Η πρώτη εἰσήγηση εἶναι μιὰ προσπάθεια σύντομης καταγραφῆς τῆς πορείας του π. Ἰωσήφ ἀπὸ τὸ μέρος ποὺ γεννήθηκε στὸν τόπο ὅπου ἀναγεννήθηκε ἐν Χρήστῳ καὶ ἐτελείωσε τὸν βίο του θεοφιλῶς καὶ θεαρέστως. Ἡ δεύτερη εἶναι μία σταχυολόγηση τῶν συμβουλῶν του μέσα ἀπὸ τὶς ἐπιστολές του, ποὺ ἔχουν δεῖ τὸ φῶς τῆς δημοσιότητας, καὶ οἱ συμβουλές του αὐτές ἀναφέρονται στοὺς πειρασμούς καὶ στὸν τρόπο ἀντιμετώπισής τους.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eἜκρινα ἀναγκαῖο νὰ παρατεθοῦν καὶ μερικά κεφάλαια ποὺ θὰ βοηθήσουν νὰ κατανοηθεῖ περισσότερο ἡ παρουσία τοῦ Γέροντος Ἰωσήφ μέσα στὸν Ὀρθόδοξο Μοναχισμό καὶ μάλιστα στὴν πιὸ αὐθεντική του ἔκφραση.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eΤὰ κεφάλαια αὐτὰ ἀφοροῦν τὸν Ὀρθόδοξο Ἡσυχασμό, τὴν νοερὰ προσευχὴ καὶ κάποια ἐπὶ πλέον στοιχεῖα γιὰ τὴν ὑπομονή, ἀφοῦ μὲ τὴν ἀρετὴ αὐτὴ ἀπασχολεῖται περισσότερο ὁ π. Ἰωσήφ στὰ σχετικὰ μὲ τοὺς πειρασμούς.\u003cbr\u003e- Ἀπὸ τὰ εἰσαγωγικὰ τοῦ π. Γεωργίου Τριανταφύλλου\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe two texts presented here are in the reverse of the order in which they were spoken. The first is an attempt to briefly record Father Joseph’s course from the place where he was born to the place where he was reborn in Christ and ended his life in a manner pleasing to God. The second is a sampling of his advice on temptations and how to deal with them drawn from his published letters.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI considered it necessary to include some chapters that will help the reader to better understand the place of Elder Joseph in Orthodox monasticism in its most authentic expression.
